Administration and the Guernsey Registry
Administration requirements will differ depending on the domicile of the corporate structure. A Guernsey based fiduciary organisation can manage companies incorporated in other jurisdictions and there can be certain benefits in doing so. However for very good reasons, Guernsey is often the jurisdiction of choice.
With the introduction of the new Guernsey Companies Law in 2008, the incorporation process for company registration has been streamlined and now sets a benchmark for other competitor jurisdictions.
Companies will be incorporated in less than 24 hours, with “fast track” two hour incorporations possible. Since October 2008, 15 minute incorporations are available for certain types of company, which sets a world class benchmark. It will, in effect, be quicker to incorporate a Guernsey company than in any competitor jurisdiction.
The Registry has introduced state of the art online technology to support the new streamlined system which will enable us to provide an even more efficient service for things such as online name searches. Also the paper‑based annual returns process will be replaced by an annual validation whereby companies electronically validate the information held on them at the Registry once a year.
